Williamstown Community Chest seeks volunteer of year nominations

Williamstown Chamber of Commerce director Anne Singleton reports the agency is seeking nominations for its Volunteer of the Year Award, to be presented at the Chest's annual meeting on May 17th at the Williams Inn. "As an organization that depends on volunteers to carry out its mission of raising and distributing funds to support local charitable organizations providing services to those in need, the Chest wishes to recognize the importance of volunteer efforts throughout the community," Singleton writes.

Since 1985, the Community Chest has presented an annual award honoring a member or members of the community for exceptional service as a volunteer. The nomination process is open to the public and members of the community are invited to submit names of persons whose volunteer efforts have made Williamstown a better place in which to live and work. Nominations for the award should include the name of the proposed recipient and examples of his/her volunteer service with dates, if possible. A contact name for additional information should also be included. Nominations should be sent by April 1 to Selection Committee, Williamstown Community Chest, P.O. Box 204, Williamstown, MA 01267. Nominations can also be dropped off at the Community Chest Office at 86 Spring Street or sent to email@williamstowncommunitychest.org . For more information please contact Executive Director Anne Singleton at 458-2443 or visit the Chest's website at www.williamstowncommunitychest.org .
